Need your opinions.... Boat HP vs. Capacty

um me thinks weighing in at 230 lbs ish and i own a barney 13 footer and it has been run for 40 years with everything on it from a 2 to its main motor 20 hp 2 strokes.tho you have not much room for gear and a dawg we tend to use a tender as you say or a mother boat for the barney and it is here where the bulk of the gear is .so for a layout 5 hp or less but if you gonna make a boat that is of the barney lines make it bigger and deeper to handle a 9.9 and be 14 foot or bigger ,im up here in canada so rules may be different im not sure to tell you the truth.

well done for coming to the best place to ask for oppions on duck boats and hunting.
