Just wanted to share with you fellas. We've had an eventful couple of days thats for sure. My wife's pregnancy has been great up to this point, with no real problems other than a couple of contractions after she killed bambi with the car about a month ago. Doc kept saying baby was doing perfect in every way. Anyway, Sunday evening she said she was having some back pain and some lower adominal cramps. We called the doc and she said lay down for an hour and if they don't go away come on in. Cramps went nowhere so we headed on in to Lexington Memorial. Wasn't long before the nurse on duty said you're not having cramps, those are called contractions
She was 2cm dialated when we went in and 4cm by the time they sent her to forsythe (sp?) at 2 am. They tried a bunch of different things to stop the contractions for at least 24 hours so they could get another shot of steroids in to help the baby's lungs...however, the baby didn't want any part of that. After a pretty short labor (even though she had contractions pretty much all day) we had a baby son at 5:43 pm Monday the 26th! About 7.5 weeks before he was suposed to be here.
Name is Cole Masten Lee Taylor, weighed 3 lbs 14.8 oz and was 16.75" long. He's doing very well, all things considered. He has been breathing on his own since the birth and is breathing room air which was the main concern. He's a little jaundiced but nothing bad. We'll have to keep making the drive back and forth to Winston for awhile but he's in very good hands there.
Here's a few pics, hopefully we can get him home soon so we can get him out of those dreadful baby blue outfits. He's got a little feeding tube through his nose but has been feeding from a bottle as well.
I hope you guys will continue to keep us in your prayers until Cole is safely home:tu
