Good evening all

I'm Charlie, living on the west shore of Cayuga Lake, in NY's Finger Lakes. We are right on middle leg of the Atlantic Flyway, as the birds pass north or south along the eastern end of Lake Ontario. The big flocks are now further north, but lots of resident Canada Geese, and assorted puddle ducks.

I'm not a hunter, but love watching the birds

Welcome, Charles~

Great area! My wife and I spent 4 years in Ithaca - early 1970s - and my Dad later ran Sampson State Park over on Seneca Lake.

I'll assume you visit the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. I went there almost weekly back in the day to appreciate their revolving shows of bird artists - and, of course, all the Fuertes works. I saw many birds for the first time - Bobolinks, Upland Sandpipers, Savannah Sparrow, Woodcock courtship display - out near the airport. Susan and I saw our first Blue-winged Teal at Montezuma - in full Spring plumage.

All the best,

SJS
