I just thought I would put a few pics of my new little guy on here and introduce him. His name is Widge so I thought it would be neet to take some pics of him with a big old widgeon I shot this morning. Theres a big yellow lab running around the house thats more than a little jelious of him but I'm sure they will become friends soon.

Hi John

Cute pup. Glad to see you got some baldplate down there. You ready for the Robber? He's heading your way next week.

Best,
Chuck

Thanks Chuck, I'm itching to get my hands on that famous little guy. I had quite a few widgeon working with the divers today, I'm sure they will be here for the rest of the season. I've dusted off my foamies and all the wood decoys I own (3) and now I'm just waiting for the UPS guy to knock on my door. I've got hunts planned out for every day I will have it. Thanks again to everyone on this site that makes this possible for guys like me. I cant afford to hunt over an all carved spread and this just gives me an idea of what it must be like. I feel very lucky to be part of this and will post pics daily with the Robbers exploits while in South Texas. If anyone in the Corpus Christi area wants to get in on a hunt drop me a message and we can hook up next week while the robber is in town

Beautiful pup and very nice baldpate John. The yeller and Widge will be best of friends in a manner of weeks. I've always had 2 dogs, staggered and it never fails, the older dog always perks up when they have a youngster picking on them!

Hello Capt John,
Great looking pup! I'm looking to maybe get a chocolate female in the spring time, I was wondering if you got widge from a breeder or friend? Any info would be greatly apperciated. Thanks Ed

Thanks for the kind words guys, Earl my yellow still just kind of steps over him like he's not there but sniffs him once in a while. Ed, I got him from a church friend that had a litter of pups. Luckily its fairly easy to get good labs in south Texas. I really lucked out with Earl, his mom is off the King Ranch and father was brought over from Britain by a guy in the air Force in San antonio. I think its the steady flow of military that keeps us from getting to many stupid inbread labs in the area. Thats always been my theory anyway. Heres a pic of Earl and one of my hunting buddies earlier this season
