New rig - Estuary

Picked up my Estuary today and couldn't be more excited. She's a beauty. Owner took well care of her and it was really a great deal. The good thing about buying a boat at the end of the season is that you have all summer to rig it up the way you want....the bad thing is that you have to wait 8 months before you can hunt it! Plenty of room for me and the pup and definitely safer than most sneakboxes out there. David Clark builds a remarkable boat.

Awesome! The pup looks right at home. I agree I'd be looking for some open water and using a camera.
Good way to get the pup used to her new home away from home, too.

Nice rig Dave. I see Jimmy's influence with the ratchet tie down on the trailer!

Best of luck with it

Thanks guys. Brian, I was under the impression the Estuary was influenced by Jimmy! Actually Jim is the one who sold me on this boat. We've hunted together for a few seasons now and hunting alongside the Estuary has made me envious of the comfort, size and safety. The dog just gave me an excuse to give the wife as to why I needed a new boat. LOL!

Wow...I didn't know foxmoor in robbinsville was "coastal" NJ

good luck with the new rig

first thing i do is get rid of the force/gamefisher motor

"Location" does not necessarily mean "Town of residence", so since I spend most of my time on the marsh, coastal new jersey works just fine.

The motor is a 2005 Mercury 15hp that still runs like new.

yo dude how much leg room is inside that thing? i think id be cramped in there im a big dude but its tempting me to buy one next

Good luck with that boat, I think you have the perfect rig for coastal bays in NJ. Being able to cross the big water safely and properly conceal yourself with a low profile once you get where you're going is the key on those waters. I have a 97 9.9 Merc that is virtually the same motor and it has been great also. You can now launch at any ramp and go anywhere you want out there.

I really don't know the cockpit dimensions, but if you'd be cramped in that I think you've got more issues than you think! LOL! Seriously bro, the cockpit is actually very big on these boats...bigger than they look for sure. I'll measure the cockpit for you tomorrow and post up the numbers..I think you'll be surprised but the best way to find out is to sit in one! You should go look up my classified ad here for my smaller planning hull box. That cockpit is much smaller than the estuary.

Greg, thanks man. I went pretty much where I wanted to go before the estuary. I guess being a prior boat driver in the coast guard inflated my balls a bit. Donofrio can attest...I think the first time he and I hunted together we had 3' swells and gale force winds...I had my little 11' planning hull box and did 30knts all the way back to the ramp! LOL! Jim's first words when he got back to the ramp were "You are one crazy motherf'er!"

Nice rig, looks like whoever had it before you barely used it. I guess they had no need for decoy racks?

The leg room question... if you can't fit in an estuary you aren't going to fit in any traditional style sneakbox!

Thanks Craig. The guy did take good care of it, I really don't have to do anything to it if I don't want. I have thrown around the idea of coating the deck to keep it less maintenance, but I'll probably just give the bottom a fresh coat of paint. It doesn't have decoy racks, but I'll be making a set for it.
