Next duck boat project, ON THE WATER!

Looks super, pics weren't loading yesterday for me when this was first posted, but they look great now.

I am very fortunate in the fact that my Wife allows me to go to the East Coast with her several times a year. The only stipulation we have, is with her job as a high school guidance department secretary, is that she is only awarded time off at certain times of the year. Christmas break is one such time, but this year her break is December 23rd., to January 3rd.


We will be there from Dec. 27th thru Jan 3rd.


I will let you know how we did. I have a buddy who's lived out there all his life. He has promised a couple new spots this year. I am optimistic!

Jon, Very Nice!

One thought on keeping the ends on your strips from unraveling..."hit" them with a thin line of crazy glue or touch the ends with epoxy on a stirring stick that is a throw away when done.
 
just saw this thread again. Great job on the build I love when guys take the time to post pics and descriptions. Not enough of us are building boats anymore.

Get yourself a gallon of white vinegar and soak some rags and throw them on , i used it on my epoxy a few times on different projects and though it is messy for some reason it takes the majority of uncured epoxy off . it is not going to be easy but it is worth a shot .the boat will smell like salad dressing for sometime but just think of it you can just take a bight out of the side if you get hungry good luck !!

that boat just says, "Duck Hunting" to me. And, the pup is icing on the cake.

Wish i had the wood working skills and place to build boats like some of you guys do. To hunt in a boat you built or totally rebuilt would be amazing. Like flyfishing and catching trout on flies you personally tied. Something about that feeling.
