Wife and I flew up Saturday for a few days of R&R, that means her sitting around the house, with a few trips to town for some shopping and me fishing as much as possible. July has never been as productive for me as May and June, but the walleyes still taste as good and wiggle on a line just about as much. I have been around salt water fishing all my life both commercially and for fun. Chased Billfish in a lot of far away places, but I enjoy fishing for and eating these guys just about the most. By the way, thanks Steve, the motor runs great! Rich

Very nice;reservoirs or local lakes? I have a friend who lives in Mandan, his most productive spot is two bends down from his dock-tough life!

I caught these in Clear Lake, which is just a few miles from my house. There are three lakes near Harvey that are quite productive, Goose Lake, Antelope Lake and Clear Lake. They put a bunch of Northerns in Goose lake a couple of years ago, kind of ruined the Walleye fishery. By the way can anyone identify the year of my 15 hp. Evinrude, and what oil to gas ratio it is supposed to use? Thanks Rich

I have the same motor. Been running 50:1 with the Amsoil product for years. If you really want to know Rich, I do have the owners manual and can look it up. Mine is a 15 hp, can't tell what you've got.

Rich, I'd be happy to look up your motor year, just PM me the model number/ letters from the plate on the bracket. I would like to chat about Harvey also. my folks used to spend sometime there in the fall.

I am so glad you are happy wih the motor. Always that, "what if they aren't happy" when you sell something to someone, (or least there should be IMO), so when you hear it was a good deal both ways it's a good feeling

I'd say 1999 but Tom could tell you for sure. 50 to 1 on the mix. Enjoying that electric start?

Best

Rich, I was up in ND two weeks ago and my great nephew, yup, great, he's 17 now, took me on a fishing adventure! 75 miles from his house, pushed his buddys little boat off the tilt trailer into a WPA, after backing down the ditch bank, into a couple inches of water.

This ol boat sat on/in his grand dads barn rafters since 1974. Last year it was licensed! With an old 15 horse evenrude, and two batteries to make sure the trolling motor would work for a few hours.

We drift fished for five hours, limiting with 15 eyes, all about 5 years of age....or should I say, all about great eating size! Wind was up, weather too hot for me and NO boat cushions. But man, was it fun. Caught 15" eyes, or ones too small to keep. What an evening. Would love to do it again soon! Four dozen crawlers were all we needed for bait. And he got them from a vending machine at the local Cenex station. ND, what a great place to live!

Nice job! Can't tell you where in the heck we were, cause those boys kept the WPA a secret, even from me. State stocked it and keep stocking it. What fun. Sure enjoyed it, even if I was a bit nervous about the ol boat and two glassy-eyed teenagers takeing me on this wild fishing trip.

Nephew lives in Ellendale and don't know if he loves fishing or waterfowl hunting more. Hope he has a few corn fields ready for November and has put the fishing poles away for a while.

I keep telling him to "be safe out there", but we all know how we were when we were younger. What a trip it was! I know you enjoyed ND fishing as much as I did! Now to enjoy the bounty of our harvest. Can't wait to grill em up!

As to the size, these were just right. When we are catching lots of them, I try to only keep the 16 to 17 inch fish. The bigger ones look good in a picture, but the smaller ones are better on my plate. By the way, I read that resident or early goose season opens August 15 in ND, we are planning a trip. Rich

Thanks guys, this motor had me confused as to the model year. The model number ends with the letters UC this stands for 78. I know that this motor is a lot newer than that. We looked a little closer last week and saw 1997 on the info tag, seems a lot more believable. I heard a rumor once that these motors went to 100 to 1 ratio, just checking if that was so with this one. Rich
