Yes.. I am on Pool 9... Guides are the Scurge of the Earth in my opinion.. I am not talking about on St Paul Island... but on inland bodies of water, where the dangers are quite real, but16' aluminum boats are the normal.
There certainly are opportunities... I don't search for them.. I rarely get up early... I shoot birds.. and could do better if I tried.. .. Otter.. he is a hunting/retrieving machine.... But he is a CBR... Had I had my Scaup.. I would have been more concerned of the Ice.. but would have found other spots ? and more hideable? that being said.. we could not have had 3 shooters. Everything is a tradeoff.
