John, are they mutes or tundra swans?
Pick are not sharp enough to id that big orangish lump on the bill process.

Positively Mute Swans. We have a large population of them on the Island. I have heard them vocalize before but nothing like this. It was if they were saying go home Jack there are no geese around and were are here to stay.
I have never had them call back and answer a goose call, call after call. They were not very mute today.

Hey John, Are you going to try and find a lee tomorrow and hit em in the am. Hopefully we get enough snow to get em off the golf course and on the water. I scouted a bit this afternoon and things look promising for tomorrow. I even saw 2 collared geese,1 yellow and 1 orange, I have seen yellow before but never orange. Good luck and be safe if you venture out tomorrow in the storm.

I'd take that over empty skies and water anyday !! Alot of people have never experienced such a thing. I know the feeling though, spent many of days hunting only to see everything but what I was after. It happens, all part of the game. The orange collar will be from Ontario. Any ideas on the yellow? Good luck on the geese, and collars !! Will be watching for updates

I'm going out at first light and have to be back at the marina to open at 8am. So it's not going to leave me much time to shoot. I do have a good spot for geese where I built a blind and it only takes me about 15 minuts to get back to work so I can open on time. The only problem is they will probably just start moving by the time I have to head back to the shop but it's better than not getting out at all. I wont be setting up my goose rig so I can get out of there quickly. I know another great spot for geese that I wish we could hunt and it is only a 5 minute ride but it lies within a no discharge zone. I guess the birds now the law. Funny, it always seems there are a bunch of them sitting a hundred yards into the no discharge zone. Guess I'll have to see what Sunday brings. Let me know if you want to hook up one day before the season ends. Only 9 days left. Good luck tomorrow if you head out.
