'nuther Friday....

You're just jealous I got you beat on posts.

And did I mention that we already have small figs on the tree and our orange (Satsuma) tree is absolutely loaded with blossoms right now????

You didn't mention it.

Of course I would trade a little snow for the tornado warnings, wind & rain we're having right now.

Between garlic growing and overwintering spinach there is always something growing in the garden. I made my last broccoli and spinach harvest in early January and began picking some spinach last month. The only thing I used for season extension was floating row cover for the broccoli. Ten month harvest window for central Ohio not too bad.

Our garlic has been up for a month or more, fun seeing it poke up through the leaves. We usually have a lot of carrots this time of year, but we were on vacation during the time for winter carrot planting. Good stuff.

It's funny our garlic/mustard weed has taken over the floor of my woods and killed all our spring flowers. I've tried burning, weed whipping, chemicals and pulling is the only answer to date which isn't practical. I realize we aren't talking the same garlic but I just had to inject that in the conversation:-)

Ah, it's that time of year I mention "Tim" and "pansy" in the same sentence....

but the association lasts all year...

A few days ago Deuce ran back to me looking like this.

I thought at the time it was just him being goofy but now I can see he was calling me a pansy too...but what the heck, I do like pansies.
