chairs will be finished, fish will be hung upon the wall to display and decoys will be lined and gunned over. Just like it should be. Best wishes to all

Accidentally posted this in the September thread... guess who's not quite with it today.

Three Sleepers for my soon to be diver spread. One Bluebill, one Broadbill, and one Scaup ;)

Good use for cork cutoffs! Pine bottom board and pine tail board.

I'd have to hunt pretty far south to get into the dos gris range but ok. Probably should add a black head while I'm at it. I do have two more bodies already ban sawed.

Charles ~

Great birds - but I cannot tell if they are Greaters or Lessers....

Here are some Cans we painted today. Member Mark Johnson made these 6 foamers in my shop last winter and came by today to paint a few Drakes and the one Hen. They are coated with epoxy and sawdust and will be on their way to North Dakota in a few weeks.

I love the High-heads!

But this Hen is my favorite. I imagine her looking back over her shoulder as a dozen or more join her over the grassbeds....

All the best,

Steve and Charles great gunning birds.

finished up the mallards I started in August. I did five the first round and four the second round with some other birds between them to break it up. Will be a month or more and then back to fill some mallard orders. Luckily I have some fun birds between then and now to carve.

nice start to the month folks!

Tom, love those Mallards! Great shape and paint. I love the richness you can get from oils.

Here is my first duck call barrel. I made a pin mandrel to see how I liked turning small stuff on the lathe (didn't want to spend the time making an expanding mandrel yet). I liked turning this A LOT! So the statement of FIRST does mean the starting point. I am going to turn a band for it possibly some burning and then a CA finish for good measure. It fits in my hand nicely. I have some Echo inserts on order just to get started but I aim to turn my own in the future.

Here is a pic before cleaning it up, parting off the extra and sanding it down.

Finally getting the Tree ducks close to done. Are my colors close? It's hard to tell without the dead reference method I've gotten used too.

The green Heron is another one that I won't be in possession of dead reference any time soon.

Used a lot of brushes in todays session.

Like the curves on that hen Geoff, Nice.

I have these guys at the bird feeder often, figured what the heck.

Mounted On a nice piece of U.P. birch.

Tom,
There won't be a greenhead left in Missouri if the ducks see those beautiful decoys that you just finished. Great job.
