Lou how many bags of popcorn do you throw out off that dock? Wow you are loaded up! Nice opics thanks for sharing.

Mike,
I've often thought that the best blind would be the dock or a pontoon boat. You'd need 4 mannequins..Mom/Dad/2kids. Set the adults on deck chairs with fishing poles in hand. Set the 2 kids sitting on the edge with monofilament strung out from their hands with a bunch of styrofoam peanuts glued along it. Now, merely hide under tarps or a "well/pit blind" between the pontoons and wait for the action that is sure to come.

Chuck,
Ya know, I was hoping nobody had noticed that I've put on a few years since my avatar pic. Guess the handicap sign is .... fitting. ;)

Hmmmmmm...Lou, you look much older here than in most of the pictures you post of yourself...fitting you get a handicap spot for the boat.

Chuck - For the record, Lou was huntin' pterodactyls in that picture...the geese just wandered by...and that prototype sculler is a hollowed out log if you look real close.

Eric Lang, Matt Pritchard and Nephew (can't recall his name......doh) hunted the Dec. 10-11th weekend out in front of our Lake House. They come up each year from Columbus area, stay at the lake house and we have a ball hunting & jawing. Matt & Eric also are doing the auctioneering for the Flats Show now. Very cool.
We all met a couple years ago at Pointe Mouillee and have been friends ever since.

The COOT COMMANDER lives!

Ya know, I was kinda hoping nobody noticed the Coot. I only shoot them when the occasion presents itself. Ok...sometimes we target them when sculling. They are a ball to scull and (yes) they're good table fare also as they are vegetarians. And, there are secrets to prepping and cooking them.

The COOT COMMANDER lives!

here's hoping you saved the breasts and legs of those "hens" for blackened coot, for Westlake!!!!! If not, get busy and gather more--Thems is good vittles, for sure!!
Man you look rather senior now!!

GREAT PHOTO'S LOU. THAT IS A FINE LOOKING COUPLE. SEE YOU AT WESTLAKE. ALSO HAVING NEVER EATEN A COOT I CAN'T COMMENT. BUT THE ONES I HAVE SKINNED,THE MEAT HAD NICE COLOR,ODOR TO THEM. ALWAYS FIGURED THEY WOULD BE GOOD EATING.

Coots? I'm pretty surprised to see coots on this board<<<<I shot one by accident a while back and was determined to eat the thing, when I cut him open the smell that emanated from this creature was revolting<<<it was a smell that said to me, "this is not edible" ,,,I didn't eat it,<<<I make a point not to shoot these things, but I've seen guys massacre them and just leave em floating around';,;',in fact I've seen this scene play out every single time I've hunted public impoundments around here when the impoundments have been full of coots,,,,it makes me sick';,/the sentiment is that we need to shoot as many of them as we can in order to get rid of them, pests';,//,I'm glad your actually eating them, but I must say I'm surprised you would target these things when it appears you have a bunch of 1st class ducks swimming around?

Happy New Year,

:by the way my period button doesn't work, hence all the irritating punctuation,,,,
