Got the old stove/heater out grilled some breakfast, shot some ducks, good day

Bob,

Cool little stove. A Folgers can of charcoal and some starter and your warm all morning. Who manufactured that one? I carry a Colman survivalcat in my pack but at 800BTU it's not much more than a large handwarmer. With that said if a time comes that I have to get it out any heat would be of some comfort though.

LOL...wow, did you order that from Herters? I would have liked that better than what we had. Dad bought one of the first Colman dome heaters. What a pain in the butt that was to light with any breeze and when it was 20 something outside.

We had them in all the duck blinds at my Dads club back in the 60s and 70s. I picked this one up a couple of seasons ago. It was new old stock out of a hardware store that was closing. Still had the company info and hang tags. It heats up a blind nice and you can cook on it too. Have to be in a well ventilated area. Bob

That looks like a smaller version of a stove I built years ago from Mother Earth News out of an electric water heater tank. Good for heating a garage, sold it to a guy who had a shack in the woods. That old Herters stuff sure brings back memories.

Sweet Bob! I appreciate your commitment to tradition.

We froze up on the north end yesterday. Do you guys have open water? Talked to Lee Albright last week. He said they did a ground count and there were 115,000 on the south end.
