Shoot....now I have to go out and buy a Pixies cd...cannot for the life of me find any. I think they wore out and I pitched um. Maybe my brother stole them from me.

I, of course, was referring to a dance band not marching bands. We had Woody Herman and his band for our high school prom (1942) during the BIG Dance BAND era. That also was a great period of Jazz. Both still great music today.

WisBoz...yeah I realize that. I guess my point was despite playing on the field for the Rose Bowl which is surely any Big 10 or Pac 10 collegiate band members dream, Doc Robinson was more excited to go see one of the great band leaders at a big club somewhere in LA. I say it may've been Benny Goodman but maybe it was Woody Herman. Whoever it was it was probably towards the end of their active career and the end of an era as the 60's kicked in.
