Ooopps, there's another one!

Habi had a litter of 10 black pups on Saturday. Mom and pups seem to be doing extremely well. I'm still amazed at how quickly they grow once attached to a nipple. Not only that but getting around in the whelping box is no issue at all. Tough little buggers!

Habi looks whupped! But then who wouldn't after having 10 babies in a matter of hours???
Tell her "Good Girl" from me and give her a biscuit!

Nothing smells as good as puppy breath. We bred and field trialed labs for about 20 years. My wife was happiest when she was up to her ears in puppy sh*t.

Thanks, Carl. She did get that biscuit, plus a couple of extras. We need to get a few more pounds on her frame.

Poor Habi! Bless her heart! Fine looking litter there Al!

Habi ended up in very good shape after that delivery, Victor. She is doing well. I found out this morning while sitting here at the desk that she still likes sitting on my left side (just like in the blind) so I can scratch her ears. I appreciated those comments.

Nothing very cute in those pictures. :) Good looking pups Habi.

Awe, come on, Tim! Kind of like saying that baby pigeon is cute?
I'll tell her what you had to say! Is the snow beginning to melt up there, Tim?

I agree with that statement of puppy breath, Bob. Your wife would have been happy here last fall when we had two litters born within 14 hours of each other. We had wall to wall pups (20) blacks, chocolates, and yellows.

What if Bev falls in love with all three girls? I smell another addition to the kennel. Enjoy the litter. Jim

Hey Jim, I think you might have something there. We have space available for two more females. One will be a black and it is possible for one of these girls to stay with us. This all hinges on Bev's critical eye. She has a knack for selecting great dogs.
I have a duck hunting friend with a gorgeous black male from Arkansas. He has already told us that we can use him with one of our girls if we want to. That we just might do because then we would have Chaco and Chip to use with her if we kept one.

Conrats on a fine looking litter Al,my litter of 10 just turned 6 weeks today, lots of poo!

Thanks so much, Steve. I understand about the job necessary to do when 4+ weeks rolls around with most litters. However, I must tell you about Pepper. She continues to clean up after her litter all the way through 7 weeks. Truly hard to believe but true.
