I don't need you two ganging up on me with good ideas. I was thinking some sort of little dog like a terrier, but that thing would probably dig holes worse than the badger. I'd be fixing dog diggings, not vermin diggings.

The vermin don't seem too hard to temporarily eradicate, it is that the legacy tunnels that they reopen. You guys need to put your creative minds towards finding a way to close up the tunnels. I was thinking a redi-mix truck with a thin mix.

They dig tunnels so right around the thin set they go. I would think gassing them in the den might work but you,ll stay busy plugging alternate holes . As a kid my parents had a laying hen building that rats kept tunneling under. Great fun to flood tunnels with water hose then shoot rats with the 410 as they exited.

I thought the same but then your stuck with tunnels full of concrete like the border with Mexico. Unfortunately giving them the gas pipe every once in a while is probably the best long term solution.

I'm gonna shoot me a pile of ducks this afternoon. At least that's my plan. No nuisance holes, just a pile of feathers.

I see trap thefts all the time, probably 20 this summer, there are usually signs - most often a head and spine left since the trap has a good hold, but always at least blood and hair and guts from pulling them out of the trap or eating them in the trap. Whatever has been doing it has tripped several over the course of the week. I don't think I've ever found a tripped trap without a sign of theft other than maybe once or twice.

That is a cottontail of some sort, I think a desert cottontail, but not an expert there.
 
OK, done deal. Should be delivered next couple weeks. I ended up doing OK, I think. The condition is not 100% "as new" and that was reflected in our offer. We offered 18% off what we calculated as MSRP plus additional options, reflecting the new old stock issue. It is hard to say where we ended up since we ended with him taking money off implements and giving us a better deal on an extended warranty. So he accepted 13% off the tractor, but then took more off the implements and warranty, so something like 15-16% off. They have to get it from another dealer, so that is always an issue when haggling.

Sounds like you did well.

As with all such things, the real measure of how you did is price versus the utility you get from it, not the price versus what you could have paid.
