Opinion post:what age do you take kids to introduce them to take game with firearm?

My son just took his first whitetail at 8yo. Learned shooting with a scope through a gamo air rifle, made all the difference. Took it with an AR with 223 federal fusions, on the light end for whitetail but it did fine. He's graduating to a 7mm08 this next year. I plan on using some reduced loads but he may be fine without them.

He wants to shoot a shotgun so bad, he's been pulling targets for me at the gun range and having a blast, still a few years off though for those swinging targets.

Wow...reading some of these my dad started me way way early. Of course fishing as soon as I could hold a zebco lol.
But he started taking me hunting with him when I was 5 years old, and let me carry my pellet rifle.
At 6 i learned to shoot my old ruger..by 7 I was on the 410 and turned loose to the wonders of the woods.
I didn't get my deer rifle until I was 12 though, and my 12 gauge when I was 14
