Options for my boat sides- will be making big water blind

Many have seen and contributed to my thread about putting a basic blind on my fishing boat. The big concern is the sides of the boat. It is a nice grey color, but shiny.

It is a newer boat and I’m picky about its appearance. It is mostly used for trolling walleye on Lake Erie. I don’t want to just paint it, since I tend to keep boats for a few years then sell it. A painted boat won’t have the same value to fisherman. I have the blind figured out but is there a company that makes wraps that I can install that have big water patterns ? Large grey pattens like duck water boats have? A wrap can easily be removed and the boat rewrapped for resale if needed.

Or is the gloss gray not that big of a deal?

Simply hanging cloth over the side is not really a great solution for wind and waves.

Check out 3M Wrap 2080. Comes in some matte colors like black and battleship gray, is meant to be DIY, and it’s removable. You could put a few blobs of different colors on the boat to break up the outline. It’s not like you’re making the boat disappear in open water. They see it, even if gray. They just choose not to care. Limiting visible motion in the boat will go a long way.

Man not caring could go a long way.
 
If your setting boat up top shoot divers (blue bills,cans, etc. )and blind sides extend partially down hull,say to about 10" above water line,it really shouldn,t matter. After all it is gray which isn,t far off from big water colors. I just wouldn,t leave sides completely exposed unless maybe your just targeting sea ducks. Have shot them ,seaducks, a bit just setting in a camo 2072 jon and also a 2472 cabin jon.

10” above water line is easy. My blind will involve snaps all the way around the boat. Just wonder about the shine. But maybe that won’t matter. Yes, divers are my game.

The water has shine as well on a sunny day. The most important shine is your movement, particularly face & glasses on their approach.
