I've decided on open water grey for my boat. I have a can of flat white oil based paint. I've added quite a bit of flat black. But it just doesnt seem dark enough.
Can some one post some pics of how dark you grey boats are? Maybe even a paint swatch???
I'm guessing darker is better than lighter, so I should not be afraid of making it too dark???

lou's paint he uses is a great color, i also have used gun metal gray from a military surplus store, aka US NAVY gray.
hope this help

Looking at that, my paint is probably closer to #32 right now. Need more pigment!

Carl,
It's difficult to add paint to it to darken it enough. You will need some real pigment....or, just get my stuff. :)

Lou,
Yep, I seem to be at a sticking point on making it darker. May sweet talk the local Ace into adding some pigment for me.
If shipping werent a killer, I would be ordering a gallon for you. But on a budget this year, and I still need to buy shells, waders and lights for the boat. So I am trying to make do. Next time I drive up to MI so see my sisters, I will be dropping by for some paint for sure. You know I still have a hen brown pint I ordered from about 10 years ago I never opened? The other cans are still good too, just needed a little thinning. great stuff.
