I have all the pictures of the building process of my earlier post of the 22 ft. Simmons Sea Skiff. Many asked about the building process, so I will post its entire construction here. As I mentioned in my Introduction, I don't know much about boat building, but I did witness some of the boat being built. I will post a few pictures in the series at a time, that way you can comment if you want regarding those steps. if you have any questions, please feel free to ask, but I will apologize ahead of time if I can't answer your questions.

Look at the post of feb 11.
It was built by South Shore Boat Works Inc. in Halifax, Massachusetts.
When I saw South Shore boat works the first think I though of was LI. I guess were not the only one with South Shore LOL.

Were is it stored in the off season, if it's on long Island I would like to see it.
I love the lines on this craft.

Thank you Bill... I should have thought of "that" South Shore as that is where I grew up... Marshfield... which is close by.

What a boat and very interesting pictures of its construction. Do you know if the areas under the sole were filled with foam? Is that red lead on the frame members?

Andrew, my wife's family is from Marshfield, or more exactly my wife's family were lobster fishermen from Brant Rock.

If anyone is REALLY interested, Woodenboat did a series of acticles on an 18' Simmons
about 4 years ago. Ellis Rowe was the author if I remember correctly.
While the 18 is smaller and the sides are not nearly as high, the build procedure is
similar.
I think the plans are still available through the Cape Fear Museum.
