parts for a old montromery ward motor?

Andrew, Probably- Wards never built there own outboards no more than the guns, appliances, lawn mowers and most everything they sold. I might be able to cross over if I knew more about it. ALSO- what does it need?

Woops, I spoke too fast I think. If you are looking at the blue 5 hp air cooled one save yourself some grief and keep looking. I thought it might be an Eska which is bad enough but on closer look I don't think it is even that. May be a Clinton powerhead which haven't been built since Rosco was a pup., I think mid to late sixties. At any rate it looks like a bomb to me. Are you in the market or just killing time on E-bay?

I am somewhat in the market, would like a 7 1/2 hp for another boat I am starting shortly. So I was out on ebay surfing and found that one. I knew there are few guys on the board that know alot about motors, so I thought I would ask first.

Glad I did.

Thanks

looks like i may be a little late with this info but i had a 5hp montgomery wards outboard that neaded parts (they were still in business back then) so i had them order
them and when they came in the mail they were "FORCE" parts. hope the info may help in the future.

Ed,

I'll save you a lot of grief. Next time I'm in your area, I'll drop by and free up that wheelbarrow for you by taking that motor off your hands.

Ed, Go to the Antique Outboard Motor web site and check out the special interest groups. I have a name somewhere of a Scott Atwater collector. I will try to find it for you.
