Every now and then we are fortunate enough to have a good dog, regardless of their purpose. Even better, is when you realize it while you still have them. In my eyes, Pearl is such a dog. She's not a ribbon winner, although probably could have gone far with a better handler. She was simply trained to have manners, go get the ducks and to be a good family pet.

Well today, with Duckboats member Al Kozlowski, Pearl hit a 1000 (actually 1002) career retrieves. I'm not necessarily a numbers guy but I have to say I am very proud to have her by my side afield and at home. Here are a couple pictures from today, hope you enjoy.

She'll turn 7 in Feb Phil, so she has had 6 full seasons already, this will make her 7th. She had over 118 before she was a year old, so her ave is well under 200/season, although last season she had 225. The other seasons are as follows. 2012/13...118, 2013/14...152, 2014/15...102, 2015/16...105, 2016/17...141 and 2017/18...225 (2017/18 was the only season that I did not turn bookings away, so I did guide more days last season).
 
I think that is so neat that you kept track over the years! That just astounds me, I a very good way. What a great compliment to Pearl! And congratulations!
