Thanks Steve! I checked out the Montana Fish and Game site, a lot info to sift through. I'm going to plan for next year. I just want to walk around and check out the scenery but it much better with a gun and dog.

Pheasant opens here tomorrow and the numbers sound good; better than the weather anyway. I've only been out for ptarmigan, doves and waterfowl so far but I'm hopeful I'll get in a little scaled quail chasing later on.

I've still got a fall turkey tag to fill in MT but that and other bird hunting is going to have to wait until I get an elk back to the truck.
