Pike-NDR

they all look like they are fresh out of the water at the same time....

Neat stuff? Always wanted to catch a big Pike....do you fish it after ice out?

Steve

Slim-o-licious! Nice jackfish. I'm hoping to get out a bit this week. It's still pretty cold in the mornings but if you can be in the sun and out of the wind its not bad.

Oh yea,

If you want to come out next summer we'll catch a bunch. I cant promise a boat full of hog bellies like you'll catch on tip ups this time of yr. But we'll catch more pike than Ocean City had Stripe Bass the week before thanksgiving! Pike in the 8-12 lb range are like shooting mallards in rolled corn! Plus if we fish devils lake you'll boat 50 white bass and enough walters to fill your belly! The best part is you dont need a guide!

Nice pike, slime is good. Were they on tip ups or jigging?

Tim
All the fish were caught on tip ups in 2 ft of water(6 fow with 4ft of ice). They begin staging for the spawn about two miles out from a river mouth on the lake, if you find these "holes" of two feet of water, you absolutely slay! Between 4 guys we caught 16 over 40" with the biggest being caught by yours truly, for once, at 44".

Great weekend with good buddies, sunshine, and hard water. Hope everyone gets a chance to try this some time!
