Pins here in Indiana seem to follow a couple years of good harvest, followed by a couple bad, then a couple more good... if that holds true I'm hoping to bag my limit this year!

We had the biggest migration of pintail that I have ever witnessed last year here in southern Indiana. Dumbfounding for Indiana how many pintail were here.

Blake, don't be surprised if that was a one year occurrence. About 5 years ago we had a large pintail migration that lasted a good bit of January. Have seen very few in the past few years. It's like they found their way here and then decided this area wasn't a good place for them and told all their brothers and sisters leave for good.

About 4-5 years ago we had a very nice migration of pintail here in southern Indiana, but very limited pintail migration every year since then until this last year. It absolutely is no guarantee that the will return with the similar numbers the following year. Hoping that is not the case for this upcoming season, but past experience tells me otherwise.

Back in 2001, we had a lot of pintails, by our standards. Killed 3 or 4 that year.

I think I've kileld one since then, seen 2 since in the last 10 years.

Maybe this is the year??
