Poleboat Repair.

Thanks Tom. I guess a 20 ga is a subgauge to some people - to me it's more than adequate. The only time I pulled the 12 ga. out the last couple of years is when the 20 was in the shop. If Kent would make a Fasteel load for the 28 ga. I'd use that more often. The way it is all I have is some reloaded Hevi-shot and that really gets expensive.

As far as Otto retiring, he has indeed earned it and I really don't think he minds all that much. I think he knows he can't get around like he used to and is satisfied with smells. He can't hear well anymore and I don't think his eyesight is very good either. Sad to see it happen when he isn't even 11 yet but that's life.

Yep, I'll get out after the ducks - soon. I shoot 80-90% of my birds the last 30-35 days of the season anyway so I have plenty of time. I'll be up in your neck of the woods come the end of November for the birth of my 4th granddaughter so maybe we can hookup.

Pete
Sorry to hear of Otto's retirement! Hunting becomes a different thing without a dog; you don't take long shots, your blind and decoy placement are carefully calculated, and most important, you have no one to talk to or swear at when you miss or to share your lunch.
