Police polls..

MA is cracking down on "community guns" -- weapons hidden around neighborhoods by gangs for quick multi-member access.

Now there is an interesting idea for gun control. The government could set up a stand in the parking lot at the boat ramp. Guys arriving to duck hunt would have no need for a gun. They would be issued a government gun on the spot with a limited amount of ammo. The gun, unused ammo and empty hulls would all have to be accounted for and turned in at the end of the hunt.

This process would be quick and efficent of course and the hours available would be similar to what one might expect at any government agency.

I saw that too but didn't rationalize like you did. You have it laid out too well. Sure hope some liberal doesn't see this and run with it! I do agree with the hour thing though. How many holidays during duck season does state and federal employees have off? And we'd be limited to Saturday mornings only with all transactions to be completed by noon!

What is your opinion of some law enforcement leaders' public statements that they would not enforce more-restrictive gun laws?

[font=Verdana,Arial,Helvetica]That's a lot of poll questions! good grief.

They give these polls to officers on days when they don't have enough paperwork............( : o )

How long for the background check at the ramp? Ammo too???
Based on yesterday's vote no FFL required! A weak vote none the less but we won that battle. Unfortunatley it ain't over yet. Take note of how your elected voted yesterday when it comes time for election day!

Do you guys really think the G men or Leo's were going to come to your door and take your guns?
Did anyone ever think we'd see what's happening in New York?

Ed,

Just want to clarify that I am not trying to argue, however. I read the article you posted on another page that referenced a civil attorney. I try not to get to worked up over Internet news especially articles like that. The police have a hard enough time keeping guns away from criminals. It would be impossible to keep them away from law abiding citizens.

I don't know enough about what really happened in New York especially from the article. I do know however that all doctors have a duty to report if someone is a threat to himself or others. I also know that they cannot block your medical information from authorities if they are investigating anything criminal. I have a hard time believing any officer took guns away from a citizen only because he was on anti anxiety medicine. But, bad decisions are made every day.

Ed,

Repeat after me:

I read it on the Internet, it must be true!

News used to report facts, no more, no less. Then they started doing editorials, and they were very clear when the editorial opinion started and ended. It was a matter of integrity. Then someone realized that editorials of varying slants were good or bad for ratings...and therefore selling commercials....and here lies the slippery slope of our society. Can anyone tell me a truely impartial news source?

Chuck
