SO, the weather was beautiful Saturday morning. I decided to go and try to get a few pictures of the spring migration. I probably should have set up on the bank.. but I didn't. For those of you that don't know, it is VERY difficult to get focus with a 600mm lens with the slight movements from the water... I need to improve my techniques!
Goldeneyes were EVERYWHERE!!!! I about went insane due to the constant whistling!!!!
My best shots... are my saddest... I about ran this poor fellow over. Not sure what was wrong with him. Sarah after 100 or so shots, Sarah had convinced me it was a decoy... it was not... I am sure I could have picked him up... I got within 5 feet and only the occasional paddle of a foot. I do not believe this fellow will be breeding this year.

The first few are amazing. He looks healthy enough... sad is right. I really like that one near the end with all the birds just off the water.

Hows come you didn't post photos like these (especially the last photo) during the previous fall migration? Huh huh? I'm sure Boz would have liked it. Maybe taking Sarah has more "karma" than taking Boz? I dunno,,,,,,,,

Just exercising her.. And Sarah would not have enjoyed spending the morning in The grassed up Scaup... Not as conducive to reading and getting a tan
