I want to revisit the below Classifieds rule that has been in place for many years.
Posting items not belonging to you is not allowed.
Additionally my philosophy for this site has always been it is for the benefit of its members, not outsiders. Listing items for sale by third parties benefits an individual with no ties to this site. My position has always been sellers needs to promote their own items. Granted, the buyer gets benefit too, but given the number of items that could get posted to the number that will actually be bought by a member the benefit didn't seem worth the clutter.
Having said all that I do realize times change and the risk of downsides that a rule prevents may no longer be significant enough to warrant the rule. In this case I am unsure.
So I want to open up for discussion should this rule be removed. Do you want people posting ads for third party items? Do you think allowing members post deals found elsewhere will not get tiring and offers enough benefit to the members?
So I'd like to hear your feedback on this possible loosening of the rules. Lastly, I did have one idea. That being to create a sub-forum to the Classifieds forum called "Seen Elsewhere" where you could repost classifieds for duck hunting related items you do not own and are not interested in buying yourself but feel someone else here might like to have the item.
All inputs and point of view appreciated.

- Re-listing items found online, e.g. Craigslist, is strictly forbidden, unless you own said item.
