Prayers for BookerT

Won't know till later this morning but all signs looked very good last night. Ruled out a lot of really serious stuff, mostly dehydrated from the vomiting.

Thanks for the update Tom! Great to hear it!

Prayers Sent,
Glad to hear Booker is doing better and not blocked.
It's amazing they don't have more problems with everything they stick their nose in.
Remember to take care of yourself, John

Glad to hear that Booker appears to be doing better. I hope he has a good recovery.

I had a similar scare with Molly a couple of years ago. It was our last morning hunt on Long Island before beginning the 6 hour drive home. She started vomiting in the boat. Got back to the ramp and she vomited some more. She then slept all the way home. Although she was tired, there was no more vomiting after we got home. I think she may have eaten something nasty out on the marsh.

Any chance of the toxic Blue/Green Algae being ingested? I have seen it take a terrible toll on dogs, while hunting out in the Duck Factory. I hope your best friend recovers Soon.

GREAT NEWS, THE VET JUST CALLED AND HE SHOULD BE HOME THIS AFTERNOON. We were especially worried because of losing his half brother Walker to cancer at the tender age of 4. They didn't find a real cause but did eliminate the really ugly serious stuff. Can't say enough good about the U of Minn. vet school clinic, they are wonderful people and have all the tools to get it right.

Tom
Even though you don't see it, the birds you have shot may have been in it. As you know, it's Nasty -hit, no matter how a dog ingests it. Hope all goes well for your Best Bud.

Good point, the way I understand the blue green stuff is there is no real help so that isn't the case today. We are out the door to go pick him up so all's well that ends well. Thanks to everyone for the good thoughts, we all have been there.

Booker's home and got a clean bill of health. Non specific stomach inflammation leading to dehydration. Charlie is crazy to see him and won't leave him alone.

glad to hear everything is gooooood now.....now get out and go chase some birds

Don't know what kind of dog treats you give your dog if any...but if you do, don't give them any bacon treats of any kind. Read up on them...the stuff coming from China is killing tons of dogs and cats. They know it is doing it but can't ID why. Also be very cautious of any kind of dog food that has yeast or brewers yeast in it or brewers rice. This item can inflame the digestive system and in many cases kill your dog. I have been a long time believer of Pedigree till I was sent a link about their food killing pets...while my mutt was at the vet with an unknown stomach issue. My pooch was vomiting blood at one point. We managed to calm his gut down enough using Imodium and Prilosec to pull him through... and promptly changed his dog food and started carefully watching the ingredients on the bag.

Keith, Thanks for the tip. Our guys only get rawhides and Milk Bones. Not any rawhides for a while though! Got the word on the Chinese jerky treats and wouldn't probably give them anyhow. The best treat is an ear scratch and a loud "Good Dog". Read a treat story (maybe a Gene Hill story ) about a guy trying to reload his shotgun with dog treats he carried to get his dog to work in the field. Got to be able to reward a dog with something you always have, your praise. Also thanks for the yeast tip, will watch that one too especially after this episode.

Sure glad to hear that Booker T is back and ready to go. That was a scare. You are very fortunate, Tom.
