Putting larger tires on a jet ski trailer???

Kind of a dumb question, but....I'm using a Karavan jet ski trailer to pull around my MLB wigeon right now. I'd like to put some bigger rims and tires on the trailer for next season, is there any reason I couldn''t put say 12" or bigger rims on it? Could I change out the fender guards if need be???

Ryan, Very good idea. Make sure the bolt pattern is correct and the fenders clear the tires. I have done that several times and happy with every one. Those little tires just are just not right, at highway speed they must be approaching the speed of light. You do give up some launching ease as the trailer gets higher but the extra ground clearance is worth it. Also bearings have a better life. Check Northern Tool for good deals on tires and wheels, they also sell fenders. Good Luck.

I had a trailer with the little 8" tires and put bigger tires on without changing hubs/axles. It gave me another 4" of of total wheel diameter and the tread is about 3x's wider than the originals, so it should float nicely in sand. I wanted to keep the boat on a trailer with lighter spings, so the shock on the boat wouldn't be so bad, and I feel like it's working well so far.
