Question on a David Clark boat

Ed,
You might consider adding a small notch in the blade to catch the decoy line.

That is a good idea. Some years I had one of the paddle blades you put on a closet pole that had a notch. I used it more for a push pole in my Lund but it served as a required paddle but it broke in fridge temps. I forgot about the notch.

In all my time hunting Mobile, I dont think I ever hunted regular season with less than 4 dozen decoys.
8 dzn was the norm.
Put out 12 dzn a few times.

Before moving to Florida I had 12 doz decoys. Sold them all but a bunch of hen Mallards and a doz BW teal decoys. Today I have 3 doz Mallard decoys and 6 green wing teal decoys. Today the guys that hunt the big river blinds still put out a few hundred decoys but frankly the small marshes and potholes I hunt, if you see a flock of 20 ducks you had a great day. Here they typically fly in groups of 6 to 8. A lot of times they will shy away from a big spread in a pothole.
