question--remove overspray of urethane on windshield

I'm converting a 17ft Starcraft runabout to a duck boat. A local marinia spray painted the hull for me with urethane and got overspray on the windshield. I need a method of removing that-- the local marine suggested Xylene but that will soften the plastic. Any suggestions?

I was going to say: how fast are you planning to drive that thing? Then I remembered--you're an Air Force guy!

Take it back to them and tell them to deal with it. I would think it could be buffed off, and the winshield polished, but it was really their mistake. Show up with it drop it and tell them to make it right.

If the windshield is plexi or lexan you will not be able to clean it. If it is glass you shoudl be able to clean with anything.

If it is a lexan windsheild you could have one made or cut one out yourself,
Go to your local glass shop they should sell lexan (it is not cheap!!)

Maybe the idea of taking it back and having them fix the problem would be your best solution.

How about the Mr. Clean sponge. That thing has worked well for removing many differnt things from others that I thought I would never be able to remove.

I do like the suggestion of making those who made the mess clean it up.

I'm curious to see a few pics of this conversion. I just inherited my grandfathers 1964 Grumman runabout 15' and I want to use it for bay hunting divers on lake Champlain. I'm looking for ideas!

A body shop would first wet sand off the paint with a very fine sand paper, then polish the plastic back to clear using polishing compounds you can get at any motor-cycle shop.

Go to your local auto supply store. They should be able to solve your problem. I like to use Presta compounds and polishes. The best I've used in 42 years.
