RE: Obama's lawsuit

Not sure how Warren feels about it now that Obama won but being the second richest and self made man in America, I wouldn't question him myself. I don't believe that he is saying invest your life savings but how can we believe in America if none of us are willing to invest in it?

Hope for the best, expect the worse......

Cheers,
Mike

FYI: I did not do much research, the amount of overblown/inaccurate information out there is just tiresome to me. I did watch a couple of the debates and read up some in the local paper. Granted the media has a bias, I realize that.

I voted obama for two simple reasons:

1-I feel like Bush and thus McCain is in bed with the big companies. Look at the price per gallon right now, 1/2 of what it was during the summer. And the big oil companies are posting record profits. We are importing the junk from China with lead paint because it has the best markup at walmat? I'm sorry, this is not free market competition as espoused by the Repubs.

2-I really don't like some of Obama's views. But I feel like everyone will know what those issues will be and the O-man can be shut down. I'm sorry, but McCain was going to work behind the scenes and put us all in a world of hurt before we knew what the hell was going on.

I just wonder if Obama will be immortalized by some cone wearin' Billy Bob with a deer rifle.

Don't forget, Hillary was bound and determined to push national health care through. ;-) Didn't happen. LOL

#1, Gas, simple supply and demand..absolutely free market.
Wall Mart..People demand cheap but are not willing to work for the wages necessary to produce it. Democrats are just as guilty on this point, Wall Mart got huge during the Clinton years. Vote with your wallet on this one, politics has nothing to do with it.

2, Who is going to shut down Obama with a Dem. Congress and Senate?
As far as assasination, that is just a very stupid thing to even type. Besides, Biden is even more liberal than Obama.

Voting for the lesser of two evils does not make any sense nor is it logical.
The price of gas has dropped because the price of a barrel of crude has dropped because the world economy is going into the toilet and people are just not driving like they once did. Bush has nothing to do with it. Never did. I hate the man as our President but I don't blame him for every little thing or big things for that matter, thats going on in our country at the present time. The Democrats have been in charge of the government majority wise for the past 8 years and haven't lived up to what they promised in all that time. What makes you think anything will change. Theres that word again.
Don't shop at Wal-Mart but I think you'll find Chinese goods no matter where you shop.
What scenes are you referring too that scared you from McCain? You want a world of hurt? Wait until President Obama has to come up with a way to pay for all those entitlements (spread the wealth) and programs he has promised. Your taxes may, according to some experts on both CNN and Fox News, (these were not CNN/FoxNews employees nor representatives of either) have claimed that taxes on some (read all of us eventually) may hit 54%.
Maybe you should have paid a little more attention to the details?

In an earlier post of mine on this thread I wondered how many blacks voted for McCain as its my belief that race was a major factor in the outcome of this election despite all the media denials. Fox news provided an answer to my question today. According to them, a break down of the voters went like this:

40% of whites without college degrees voted for Obama
47% of whites with a college degreee or better voted for Obama
An overall average of 43% of whites voted for Obama
Now here is where the non-race deal gets blown out of the water....
95% of blacks, regardless of education voted for Obama....leaving 5%...5%!!! of blacks voting for McCain. Race wasn't a factor?!?

Its sad to say and very unfortunate, but race has been, still is and always will be, a dominating factor in all aspects of this country.

Of course no matter where Obama was born he is a natural American as his mother was an American. He is our next president for good or ill, and mostly for ill.

However just remember I told you all this: his election is one of the biggest disasters to ever hit Western Civilization. We may never recover from an Obama presidency, and if we do it won't be until I'm a very old man. We've been having a running dialogue over at the hospital, between myself and the Democrats, in Mississippi that means African Americans for the most part, and I understand their desire for a black president, and that's the one good thing about Obama is that finally we have one. Heck I would have liked to have voted for the first black president, but I wish it would have been Condi and not him. Obama will hurt them far more than he will hurt me.

Talking to small businessmen and not so small businessmen, everything now is on hold in the capitalist sector. Capitalism is frozen. Plans for expansion are being reviewed, or forgotten entirely. Hiring freezes everywhere of course. Jobs that would have been created this week have not been created. Not because of the mortgage and lending crisis, but because of Obama's election and the election of what will be a nearly fillibuster proof Liberal Senate. Never in our history have we had the liberal government will have for at least the next 2 years. Remember the Carter years? I do; they were no fun. Back then, Southerners were nominally democrats, but voted Republican for president and their representatives in Congress were conservative. Now, all Democrats are liberals. What is the point of risking capital and working your butt off if the government is going to get most of what you'll make over 250k (or 120k depending on who's talking)? I know folks who make that laying in bed. They are the same folks who drive industry and create jobs. They're not going to do it for nothing. How many times do Americans have to be taught the lesson that if the top tier is punished the bottom tier suffers?

Again Words from Warren Buffet

Over the long term, the stock market news will be good.

In the 20th century, the United States endured two world wars and other traumatic and expensive military conflicts; the Depression; a dozen or so recessions and financial panics; oil shocks; a flu epidemic; and theresignation of a disgraced president(not Clinton). Yet the Dow rose from 66 to 11,497.

This is what happened over the course of 100 years and you guys are ready to hang the noose around you neck(no pun intended Obama) over the next 4 years.

Please....sky hasn't fallen yet. We are in for a bumpy road, but as always we will endure. Suck it up. If it doesn't suit you anymore, move to a real shitty country and see how bad, bad really is.

Cheers,
Mike

For the record

Wall Street set the price for a barrel of oil which in return reflects the price of a gallon of gas.

if you want the government to step in and control and regulate the price...well isn't that socialism by definition.

Percolate....Is that like trickle-down?

You know that slogan about "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns." ? Heck, Lee, we'll just all become outlaw gunners.

After all, my mentor Buckeye Joe was always "regarded highly" by the DNR, and he always maintained that decoy carvers were the last free men in America - regardless of who was the Prez.

Great photo Bob!! A classic for all time.

I would like to apologize to the members here for what may seem to be an excess on my part. I have posted several remarks about the voting practices of the black members of our society to an extent that some of you may think I'm Archie Bunkers prodigy but that isn't the case. I have a weird code I adhear to and too often expect others to have the same standards which has caused me a few problems now and then. I deeply felt that standard wasn't met by a class of voters and ranted about it and was quite wrong. If I offended anyone, I'm sorry. Sometimes I have to sit back, reflect and then hit my head against the wall to get the brain group thinking in normal lines.

We can count on the principal support for our economy. which is Greed. Greed and desire to have more will drive the economic wheel. Pushing the ARM mortgages and all the folk living on borrowed money made for a train wreck. It is really going to get ugly if these folk get bailed out cleanly. So much credit in refinances and so many second mortgages taken where money was pissed away. I will never accept that those are "bailed out". Face it. Most lived beyond their means. Others and many of them were also raped by the realtors, mortgage lenders/brokers, developers, city assessors, contractors, credit card agencies, car dealers, etc... All contributors and participants to fraud and fleecing of this country. It was alarming to learn that these notes were passed on to be owned by dissassociated companies and countries that invested their cash in them in good faith. That cash is now evaporated. Now, just how the hell am I to buy into rhetoric that the GOP/Bush were capable of this when economies of both hemispheres of the globe have crashed while the democrats were more than present in the house and senate? This isn't just lack of U.S. regulation. There is a flaw in the systems that is being exposed. The next years are going to be GREAT. I can't wait for the punchline! Just wait and see when those friends of Orgasmo realize you aren't paying off their mortgage or paying to fill their gas tanks or going on early retirement so that O'damit can reditribute the wealth and give them all guvernmint yobs. Back to the days of $1,000 dollar toilet seats and hammers to the military to afford to carry the unemployable. It will be a case of Wanton Waste. I do agree with Jack Welsh when he recently stated that the O'man has to hold the line with the left. Of course that fight is already begun. With Almenahatevertheflock from Iran vying for attention with CNN granting him such reverance (please!) and the labor unions are pushing in. there will be very interesting reading in the papers. The cost of vehicles will double or better to carry the dead weight, but we'll raise import tax to fight off the "others" but won't be able to afford anything because the skills and companies are no longer here to make the stuff you use every day. Ohhh happy days.... And just where the hell did all this money into O'boys campaign come from??? I really would like some transparency with this! Just what devils are in his pockets? Hold the line!!!

It's kind of weird that everyone here says how the bailout is wrong and these people should get what they deserve yet everyone here complains how hard the economy is on them. Well, for some people the economy affects their businesses a little harder. What if someone didn't "live beyond their means" and they felt that they did everything to help their business and the bailout helped them? Is that wrong? What if a guy had 2 kids in college and one in high school and his wife became seriously ill and couldn't work?

It seems that everyone in the "bailout category" is piegon holed into believing that it was all their fault and that they contributed to this country and perhaps worldwide epidemic problem. I am sure that during this housing boom the past several years that many of you may have been contractors and other types of business that directly benefited from these times. Did any of you turn away a job because you knew that the owners bought more than they could afford and it "just wasn't right". Did any of you turn away home improvement work from a mortgage broker who was raping people with ARM but he was giving you a job that you could make 10k profit on. I don't think so. So, when the pot is full, everyone eats from it and when it gets empty, everyone starts pointing fingers. This is why America is such a legistic country...it's always someone elses fault for our problems. Many of us fattened up over these times and now it's time to tighten the belt.

Sorry that I keep posting here but I feel that a few of you are wrong and one or two are really wrong(my opinion of course). Instead of just bitching about it, I've already mapped out my financial plans for the next two years and the changes that I feel I need to impliment into my business to survive this administration.

By the way.....Detroit wants a bailout now too. It appears what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

And John Kerry might get the secretary of state job...oh f**k. It appears that with Obama's compaign of change in Washington won't happen because he just keeps hiring the same old crooks in Washington for his cabinet positions

The Republican Party missed the ball completely on this one....it should have been clear from the beginning that America was tired of Bush Politics, tired of a war that wasn't being won and where there were no intentions of winning it, and that they were looking for something different.....WAY THE HELL AND GONE DIFFERENT....

So what happens? A Bush Acoclyte wins the nomination.....and then because of Clinton's success with America's women and minorities they tag Palin for VP.....WHO? we all asked...and then when we found out all we could do was scratch our heads and ask..."why the hell did he pick her"?.....(oh yeah I forgot she was a "LIFE" NRA member and she had shot a moose"---BIG DAMN DEAL many people stated, including a whole lot that hunted and owned guns....

Clearly THATwas a stupid move , at least from my viewpoint and I was desperately looking for a reason to feel good about voting the way I voted, and if McCain and the Republican Party really believed that bringing a woman on board whose only real credentials were that she was a Life NRA Member, had shot a Moose and was claimed by many to be "hot" then he missed the boat by further than a long mile on that one...

So in the end America was left with the prospect of yet another four years of a President that they were SICK OF, (hell even here, in good old Republican land, there were MANY-hell MOST-that said they had lost faith in Bush AND the Republican Party), because in their minds McCain was just an older version of Bush and they wanted nothing to do with it...NOTHING....

Increases in fuel and food and everything else, plus the latest economic disasters default to the sitting President, (right or wrong), and FORCED people who might have" voted Republican to vote for the Democrats....gun owners are a minority in this Country so 2nd Amendment Rights weren't a consideration..giving up something you don't use, (the Second Amendment), wasn't a consideration.....people wanted something they weren't getting and they saw McCain as someone they weren't going to get it from....Obama, with his vacuous promises of "Real Change" was standing there with the butterfly net to catch the people that couldn't run away from the Republican Party fast enough because they were offering up nothing more than "more of the same" with the McCain/Plain ticket...

So in the end the real consideration to the more than substantial majority that voted was, IMO, not who Obama was but who he wasn't....McCain was another Bush....Obama wasn't....Obama wins.....

So "AMERICA" gets something different...if it's as heinous as many people here think it will be then in two years its up to us to change it by taking their majorities in the Legislature away.....and two years after that to offer up a candidate for President that isn't more of the same like they did this year.....

Like many I'm not happy but I do understand how what happened happened...and to realize that no amount of bitching and moaning is going to change it for the next two years....and that its time to stop hoping that "he was born in Kenya".........

Steve

Not trying to pick a fight, but in my opinion, if McCain hadn't picked Palin, the spread would have been much worse. It's no secret that with McCain's F rating from the NRA, his McCain -Feingold bill and many other snubs at the base of the party, he was in deep dung. His nomination was met with such vomit warm response from the base he had ZERO chance of coming close and even less chance of winning. Palin, right or wrong, was a shot in the arm/leg/ and butt for McCain. WIthout Palin and Joe the Plummer, McCain loses in a landslide. No recent republican candidate has won without solid support of the base.

I have to agree with you Scott.

I had decided not to vote after McCain was chosen as the "republican" candidate.

When Sarah Palin was picked as the VP I was driving over the road and did not see her for a couple of weeks, so the "hotness" factor did not influence me one way or the other.

I actually listened to what she was saying and found myself agreeing with most of it.

The only time I heard her falter was when she seemed to be repeating what her handlers were feeding her.

If she is as committed to the ideals that I believe in and is as tough as she appears I have no problem voting for her.

I would rather have someone who knows right from wrong, and can see through the BS working for me than all the harvard educated pragmatists in the world.

And I pray that Obama IS a pragmatist and not what I fear that he is.

Yes, I know she was only the VP candidate but my only reason for voting this year was to get Sarah Palin Closer to the presidency.

You can say she is a post turtle if you'd like, but we got one anyway, at least she's MY post turtle.

I had several Remington 66's and they were 22 long rifle semi-auto carbines. Wish I had kept those Nylon 66's as they were sweet little rifles that are now going for twice what they were new when I bought them.

Don't worry about Obama messing with guns as he has too much on his plate for his first term anyway. I suspect he knows that if he goes too hog wild that he won't get a second term. I for one have a great deal of faith in our democracy.

Remember if it get's too crappy here we can always invade Mexico and finish the job started in 1848 and again in 1917.

Best,
Harry
