I am unable to load pics inline anymore. It just will not allow it. Has anyone else had this problem?......................Kevin

Kevin, unless it is a washed pic, the color needs some attention on the bill--You might want to try playing with these colors-titanium white, yellow ochre, burnt umber, blackduck black--two parts burnt umber, one part ultramarine blue--for the hen, some mars black, which will change the olive in the mix and make it a mite greener---BUT NOT ELECTRIC!
See if this info helps---you did super on the head coloration!

at risk of catching hell---looks like the male was done with mostly cad yellow----try mixing the colors i left on the previos post--they should help immensely--avoid cad yellow--just too overpowering---i will be using that color when painting yellow billed pintails for argentina tomorrow, and i STILL cut it with yellow ochre to calm the brightness--
hen got a bit off, but is better--try doing some mottling on the bill--similar to a hen mallard--use a mix of burnt umber and mars for it

that might tend to alleviate some of that color . what the heck,, you have until next season to practice---
The bill is one of the first things to lose coloration when a duck passes---photos work, but observation is best, especially on a cloudy day.

George, I appreciate the help and would never give you HELL! I did paint these prior to reading your post with the colors. I actually used yellow ochre, not cad yellow. Maybe the flash is brightening the pic. I will play with the bills a bit. I love doing this George and will re-paint them over and over again if need be. Learning is not easy but it is fun!!!.....................Thanks a million for the help.....................................Kevin

could be flash--try small additions of either the burnt umber OF blackduck black on the drake bill. Keep plugging--i was once told by one of my art instructors that learning is just a process of making lots of errors, when the same one is repeated over and over, learning ceases.
