Recipe Sticky?

yep, sticky or section, either one. If you go section, you can have threads of "jerky" "sausage" "roasting" etc. just to make it easier. Or what the hell, one big sticky works too.

chuck? Eric?

I'm not big on stickies...stuff gets put there and never read. It is possible to make a section, like the Carvers Corner, where recipe threads could be moved to. I did a search with the keyword "recipe" and had 21 pages of results, everything from mead to muffins to Christmas cookies...and a few recipes including waterfowl too...so in the meantime, if yo uhave a recipe to share, start a thread, looking for one, try the search, or flat out ask in a new thread.

I'll contact Eric about the idea of starting a section, but I don't think I sould be in charge of it since I have been given quite a bit of flack about being in charge of the Carvers Corner...and me just being a lowly seamstress and not a high and mighty decoy carver...

Gee Chuck, I thought they taught cooking in Home Ec? Figured with your sewing skills, you must be good in the kitchen too? ;)

Couldn't resist....

Chuck, a section on recipes would be fine with me. The older I get, the more interesting my cooking gets. I've been able to make some pretty neat dishes. Some of them are my own creations, some are recipes I've seen in books/magazines. I'd like a chance to share them, especially the ones for the unpopular birds, so that the guy who only shoots a bird a day and that bird is a merg doesn't get discouraged and give up the sport.

You mean "Meat Soup" right?

Hey Chuck,
I nominate John Bourbon to be the moderator of the Recipe section, I mean heck the guy has booze in his name, he must be good right? Besides, he started it, so he can finish it!!!

Seriously, if you need some help with that, I can assist.

I talked to Eric and he is okay with creating a recipe section. Might be a few days before he has time, but once he does, basically it will be handled like the Carvers Corner, where in post initially will be made in the main forum and after initial commentary will be moved by Eric or myself to the new section, where follow up will still be allowed. so after it is initially started, I'll sift back through old posts and try and dig up the best of the recipe threads over the years and move them there. Once I have done this, if there are addition posts I may have missed, feel free to mention them and I can take care of that.

I've also still got a Word copy of the draft DHBP cookbook if you want it....

Carl,
would you mind sending me a copy of that? you should still have my email from the whole boat deal, if not, let me know. thanks.

Well, maybe I lied. I just tried to find it to email it to you and its not on my pc here at work. I will look on the home computers as soon as I can and see what I can come up with.
If nothing else, I can scan & PDF my hardcopy.

The DHBP cookbook went down in a blaze of glory, with one or two old-timers quitting in the aftermath.
I dont remember what exactly started the fight, but I remember it got pretty colorful for a while.
From what I remember, the person who was putting it together emailed Word copies to those who contributed when the shit hit the fan, just before or after he quit the site, never to return.
