Refurbishing of foamers

I have finished my 90 decoys for this year... So I started glossing up my old ones... They will be flocked.

I started sanding this before I snapped this picture... as you can see.... It has been used...

Lots of well used foamers. A little putty and paint and you will have many more years of fun. That one looks like you where hunting with some of my friends. Is Kodi any good with a paint brush or is he just there to help you carry them out of the barn?

The way I flock is to use Rust-Oleum paint. I use the oil base. Leave the lid off long enough for some of the fluid evaporate and so the paint is thicker. Then spray on the nylon flocking fibers. And let it dry.

Kody might be very good with the paintbrush, but he is there for supervision only.

I could think of one or two buddies that have the ability to shoot because like that. They are actually the reasons might spread or not plastic decoys. I can't afford to keep replacing them. They won't even get the holes filled it was just you paint over them

Kodi seems a lot younger then his sister. Bella doesn't even want to hang out with me outside anymore she would rather sleep next to the fire.

Would you be kind enough to expand on your formers. I can see what looks like a seam through the middle of the one bird. Are these expanded foam out of a mold, glued sheet foam or something else.
What kind of foam is it. What size are they. No bottom board, wood, used? How do you install heads, any keel.
Want to make some framers and don't know which way to go....thanks, Bob.

These are out of an aluminum mold. You seeing the parting line of the top and bottom half of the mold. I ran a screw from the bottom upt to the head, and put construction adhesive between the two. The keel is synthetic decking attached like the head. The ones I made this year changed a bit. I glue the head on with gorilla glue and a 5+" headed deck screw. The are all are from 2 part urethane foam from US Composites. These were 4#. They always rode the water fine... On Lake Michigan... With a keel. I tried a few without a keel, and they would flip. The ones I made this year are all 8# foam... And I cast a green treat 2x4 block in to the bottom for extra weight, and a more secure mount for the keel.

Perhaps she just doesn't want to hang out with you...???

Man, that's harsh...

Made me laugh!

Unless we are doing something fun, Kodi prefers to be wherever Sarah is... And if gets bored outside even if Sarah and I are outside, he will go wait by the door to the house. I guess his bed is more comfy than the grass.

Might have been harsh but probably true.

She was outside tonight with my son getting fire wood and was perfectly content to hang with him.

I really think it has something to do with Alpha... They love the shit out of us... But ... They like to be with the rest of the pack... At least that is what I tell myself.

So.... I think Kodi snuck on to the computer today while I was at work... He has been like velco all night... Lol
