I finally got a chance to get one of these painted up. I was able to cast 12 for this years rig before I ran out of materials.

Tom, very nice! what were you talking about in past post about your painting skills? I think your skills and talent are excellent!

PS still haven't finish scoter heads, trying to stick a deer before duck season.

Tom,

Really neat bird.

Question for you. What did you use for the texturing? That looks pretty course on the back and creates a NEAT effect. Texture paste? Impasto?

Thanks!

Best,
Steve

Steve, I used texturing paste applied with a sponge. Paint white over the top then dry brush the vermiculation in. I find it's much faster than combing.

Awesome Tom!

Where in the Rochester area you? Come by and stop in on a LPWA meeting sometime at our clubhouse on Island Cottage Rd. between Buck and Round Pounds. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month @ 7:30PM.

Thanks Nick. I live in the Chili area. I actually have been meaning to go to one of the LPWA meetnigs. Lately it seems that I have 5 other things going on the nights the meetings have been. Thank you for the invite. I will stop by (hopefully at the next meeting).
