There's enough ammo on either side to lampoon this story. I took the low hanging fruit.

Agreed never was my intention to go this route. I honestly thought it would be kind of fun to get some decoy makers to make one of these weird peculiar birds. Ill make one first next time and try and lead the charge that way. @Eric Patterson shut her down buddy. The majority has spoke, I say we listen.this thread is going to turn south in a hurry. Lets let it go before it becomes way to political.
Wyatt, Wyatt, Wyatt. C'mon man.
Anyone remember ol antonio jones?? That fool was an OUTLAW guide in the duck world. Could run a damn good call and even won worlds once. I still kind of want one of his calls if I could ever find one. Dude was as shady as they come.No matter who you are or where you go, make sure you know and follow the rules. And if you use a guide, insist they do as well. Or walk away.
It’s that simple.

lol you dont have to go to Italy for that. I remember some of my friends had local game warden take a few hundred dollars off person and then just left with the money. Bunch of kids out shooting yotes in the night, sheriff pulls them over. Says the sheriffs were super cool and was even joking around about trading AR's with one of my friends who had a custom built. Finally game warden showed up because of the dogs in the bed of the truck and read them the riot act. Made them all come up with some money on the spot or go to jail. He said even a few of the sheriffs were questioning what he was doing, but he said this is my dirt road and my jurisdiction. Ill never forget when my buddy called me at 4 am asking to wire him the money before he had to call his parents. He so badly didnt want to have to call daddy thinking he would be in so much trouble. Dad was super cool about it and wanted all the info he could get knowing these boys were getting had. Never went anywhere though. Crooked is crooked everywhere. I knew something was shady when I asked about the ticket, or copies of paying this game warden... my buddy just stared at me and said he was happy to still have his guns. I laughed, but often wonder what I would of done in that situation. Probably told him to take it all and haul me off as I know what he was trying to do. Would of tried to call his bluff, but at 18, we are all kind of sissies when it comes to the law and guns at that age lol. I know how I felt the first time I got checked by ol green jeans. My balls were a little tickly. That makes sense, but the reality is in some places the rules are ill-defined and left up to the "local sheriff". I don't know that this case in Italy is an example of what I'm talking about, probably isn't, but some international hunts occur in poverty stricken areas where laws are whatever the local authority you encounter says they are. It isn't always cut and dry and many of the things we know as normal are VASTLY different in other parts of the world and you could find yourself behaving in a manner that seems very reasonable but against the law.
yup shady shady. Only had 1 run of duck calls after his worlds win, never paid the company that turned the calls, so they never turned him anymore. So there aint a lot out there, but they'll never be worth anything because of the negative name he created around them. There were so many stories about him guiding and having to leave hunts early because he was outrunning the law. But you're right, he finally got caught and swallowed a bunch of booger sugar and it ruptured in his stomach. What I heard was he died in the back of the squad car on his way to jail. Not sure what was true. So freakin sad. I finally saw one of his calls come on ebay. I slept right through my alarm to wake me up to bid on it. I did the same thing a couple weeks ago on a 2014 RNT 1/250 call. That one still haunting me. Its literally the last one I need for DC collection. DOH!I recall he died of a drug overdose and struggled with addiction. I think he ingested drugs to avoid being caught with them and they later killed him while in jail. Or something like that. The problem with living life like a game of roulette is your luck runs out. Even worse, some folks don't know they are at the table.
