Sadly ....Last Post

Well... I knew you were a given.... Need a 3rd.... And I didn't realize southern Iowa closes Thur not Sunday......

Phil, I am just down by Pool 12 and 13. The only layout hunting I do is from a layout blind or a marsh boat, but I will travel for a hunt. I didn't buy a WI license this year, but I have hunted WI many years.

My season didn't get good till we got 13" of snow and rain to melt it. Now we have lots of water, plenty of geese and a few ducks. Working this week has been hard when I could be hunting.

Think of all the extra time you have for your decoy project...wait...not exactly a consolation is it. I tried..:)

Phil,
Too bad you couldn't make it down this week, my honey hole is filling with cans tonight and the wind hasn't even started yet.

Work is really beginning to interfere with my true calling.

Tom, that didn't help.... Mike you are not helping either....
BUT.... an opening just happened .... trying to decide if I can book a flight and get everything ready as well at work... in one day... to go to Alaska....

Don't wait for another life, do what Dani said and GO to Alaska. You will not regret it.

By the way, Phil, yesterday when I was hunting the only thing that came into the pond was a dragonfly and it landed on Habi's tail.

It is so hard to believe that we are 1/3 the way through December and I'm watching people walking around in T-shirts.

Al, that is most of the winter here in FL :)

Dani, the only major difference is that we are living at an altitude of almost 5000 feet or a mile higher than you. It was in the mid 60s yesterday and it became too uncomfortable to continue to cut wood. This particular pattern of westerlies looks like it will be here with us for a while.

It is with great sadness that I cannot make this impromptu Alaskan adventure work. I actually do not have enough vacation days left and I really am not willing to pay the price for a 48 hour notice on a plane ticket. Even with the discounted package, it really isn’t a savings. L Then the BIGGIE… this would prevent me from paying of the cabin per my timeline. With work being a slow and unpredictable as it is right now……. I guess I am putting a fork in it. L

Next year.
