Not to get off topic but I was reading some of your post and was wondering what you ended up doing for a dodger. I'm always looking for fresh ideas for canvas solutions.
 
John, I actually haven't put a dodger on either of my boats yet-when I hunt from them I usually end up throwing grass mats over the cockpit and cutting some cattails to hide the motor. Both boats will almost completely disappear this way. I usually end up transporting some decoy bags or coffin blinds on the front deck anyway so a dodger would get in the way of those. I have been thinking about trying out a low profile flip-up blind though, I'll make a post if I end up doing that.
 
Well...I was cruisin through old posts. Incase anyone missed it... I did not keep the inset motor mount. I put a 1989 50 hp Yamaha on it. I have hunted it 2 seasons. I do have a few mods to make. I screwed up , and didn't adjust the transom angle when I made it... I also think the motor is too high, so.. I need to make some adjustments.

Yeah... it does sit a little lower in the water on the stern. I also have a 12 gal fuel tank back there....



It is sitting on mud/sand in this one.









 
I like your whaleback idea Phil, you must gain a ton of protected storage space under the deck! Does it make getting in and out of your boat tricky at all?
 
Yes, there is a ton of underdeck storage. I also like the added freeboard with the whaleback. I can have Kodi, another hunter and more than 12 doz magnum decoys....

Getting in and out is very easy, Even in 4' of water, I can crawl up the stern of the boat. I should install a handle or something, I suppose.
