How's this for a wintery landscape? Jane took the kids up to the White Pass last weekend for some self propelled fun.

The snow is about 6 feet thick still, but has set hard enough that they could go anywhere they wanted, skimming across the top, with snowshoes. The dogs got a good workout trying to keep up.

Snowmobilers love this place.

Mike,

Six feet of snow in April is just plain crazy!! We just hit 60's for the first time in months and I'm loving it. Our Michigan winter has been too long...but nothing like your's, lol! We've got thunder-boomers passing over head, the grass is finally green and the ducks are frisky:) Have fun snowshoein',

Wow! We still have a few piles of snow in the yard but it's time to summerize the sleds for the season and dust off the trout rods.

It's been in the 70's for two days here and the damn grass is growing again. Had to mow a bunch yesterday.

Come on August. I love me some brown grass!!

You fellows are making me sick.:) ) We had a snow storm last night. 5" The snow was all most gone. Had to plow snow this morning. Even the river says it time. The main channel is opening up.

This time of year with that type of snow ( hard solid crust in the morning ) was my favorite for cross country skiing . I skate ski and would go all over the woods this time of year. Just make sure you are out before 9 or 10 am , depending on the temps that day. Stay later than that and the crust starts to soften and you could no longer ski effortlessly on it .
