dickie

I'm curious, since it is your first time, why don't you and a friend jump in your truck/car and make a three day whirlwind trip out of it? The two of you should be able to get over there from Michigan by humping it and then you can spend a day checking out the Bowdle area. It would even give you some time to go and ask some farmers if you could have their permission to hunt. You don't live that far away. This way you would know exactly what you will encounter.

Tim, back in the 50's you had to be 21 to drink a beer in Minnesota. Since Big Stone City was a mile from the town where I lived, we would go over to that huge metropolis to drink our barley pops. They would jokingly say, that if you could reach up and touch the bar, you were old enough to be served. Milbank was our other destination. Lots of great memories.
I also remember wandering across the state line and drooling over the tens of thousands of mallards that would be sitting in the farmer's sloughs/corn fields with no one to shoot them.

hmmmmm Bowdle area you say...I'd head to old man Jorgensons place. Straight East of Bowdle There's a huge old cottonwood there, head NE of there to the pile of rocks SE of the intersection...look due WEST and you'll see a nice little slough.
This is top secret, so I'll delete it once I know you've recieved it.

I know that part of the country well. Brother in law is a Doc in Millbank and I too have had a few beverages in Big Stone City. I can't recall the name of the bar but it right after you cross over into SD and it is on the right on a corner. Wonder why I can't recall the name?

I do know that super secret spot but won't tell. TGuess I'm a bad person.
