Sealing and Glueing Cork

The Black cork birds using my method ,should look similar the orange birds you showed on the net on this subject.Try it on an sample piece 1st, till you get the feel & looks you want. george i have used regular elmers woodfill and then a couple coats of spar varnish and then acrylic paint on my tan cork bought from knotts knives.. will this work as a good sealer?

Sean, are you hollowing that cork and using a bottom board? Either the spar, if successful, or the GAC should work for you. The main idea is to create a surface that is flexible and will prevent wicking of water into the voids in the cork.
