Shameless plug for a great product

I obviously haven't posted in a while. I have been crazy busy with a lot of different things, but mainly making spoons. I've been wanting to take a few minutes though and offer up an atta boy for Terry Desilets and his irons.

I've had Terry make me a few brands over the years and I have always been happy with them. For the most part they were used for branding decoys, tools, etc. After a few years of signing my spoons with a pen I decided to get a brand made this year. I knew this would be different than branding decoys in a lot of ways and as simple as it seems to burn something in a piece of wood, Getting it wrong would mean I could ruin a spoon or utensil I have a considerable investment of time into. Also had considerations for different sizes, boldness of the letters etc. After countless emails and phone conversations the electric brand was done and on my doorstep. I did some test burns and more conversation with Terry, built a temp control, more practice and got it dialed in. Like I mentioned, my margin of error is pretty thin. Along the way Terry took into consideration a lot of things and told me what would and wouldn't work. At times I started to get a little frustrated but having this thing and using it now it is clear to me why Terry insisted on having it the way it is, Had he not, it wouldn't be working for me.

I have been using it for close to two months now and could not be happier. I am likely putting more use on one of these in a week than most guys will do in a lifetime, working with harder woods, and other than being a bit dirty the whole unit is in the same condition and operating like new. The brand shows no deterioration and is branding crisp clean and consistent still.

Anyhow like I said that's it. I am impressed enough that I wanted to spread the word.

I received one of Paul's spoons, a left handed spatula actually, in a contest he ran on FB.
Have to say that the quality is incredible! I've put it to great use making stir fry & all sorts of other meals.
If you need wooden cooking utensils, Paul is the source.
Thanks again Paul!!!!

Thanks fellas. I'm gonna have a bunch of stuff wrapped up the end of the week God willing and I'll take some pics and post them up. Right now I don't have any pictures of stuff thats branded, just signed.

BTW, I am not trying to peddle my wares. Like I mentioned before I made this post to let everyone know who happy I am with Terry's product and service. I also think this is a public service announcement in that if some of you guys would buy a brand or two Terry could have a few bucks to replace that gawd awful canary yellow shirt!

hey...its not a fork if it doesn't have four prongs. What are you doin? Trying to save material...hehehe

Just kidding. Good work by both of you knuckleheads. Although I am concerned that some of our more eccentric members are starting to join forces.

Thank you Paul for that glowing review, the shirts are a registered trademark, I can't be seen without it! I will agree that Paul makes some beautiful utensils! True art! I have made a few spoons as gifts in the past, but his are such a joy to work with.

Again, many thanks and I'm glad we were able to work out all of the details!

Paul's utensils are like art work. Very nice to use and admire. Here are two I got for my Mom for Christmas last year. I don't think he intended them for salad spoons but they are versatile.
