Shell Shortage

Seems to me there is a very obvious absence of waterfowling shot shells as we head into the fall. Anyone know if shelves will get restocked or are we going to be throwing rocks at some point this season.

Through the winter months into spring I worked a part time job in a farm store that sold ammo. At the time most ammo in 9mm, .380, .45, .556 and 7.62 trickled in and as soon as it came in employees were buying as fast as they could. Shot shells very seldom came in and the ones on the shelf were Blind Side. All other brands were sold as soon as they hit the shelf. At the time supply management was asked several times when things would change. The answer was always the same. Ammo manufactures stated they would not be increasing output with the current political atmosphere. Fortunately I have enough ammo to get me through a few seasons.

That's baffling, what about the "current political atmosphere" could possibly impact their decision to increase the supply of shotshells (or any other ammo for that matter) to meet demand?

Good articles on causes, I found the comparison to the great toilet paper shortage of 2019/2020 quite interesting: supply chain issues, panic buying and hoarding are self-fulfilling cycles that lead to shortages.

We can all shake your heads but you have to remember my comment came from the early part of the year with everything from "Oh government is going to let you sue gun and ammo makers" and the "government is going to require ammo manufactures to serialize all the ammo manufactured" and Oh, did you hear the "government is going to place very high surcharges on ammo purchases" and Oh, did you hear the government is going to limit house holds to a certain count of ammo? I just stated what leadership told us about why the franchise wasn't seeing the ammo manufactures upping their ammo manufacturing output. JS
