Slotted Decoy Bag Sewing Sequence

Ok my brain is officially rattled. I know there was a thread on this back in 2018.

I can’t, for the life of me, figure out the sewing sequence to sew slotted bags. I’ve toyed with the idea of making my own.

Here is one of Diane’s bags. The long sides and bottom are one large piece. Both ends are separate. The dividers are sewn together, attached to the sides, and the bottom of the long divider only, is attached to the bottom.

Not being able to turn the bag inside out? How in the hell do you get all these sewn and to fit into the machine?

Ideally I’d like to make a bag with fully each divider fully sewn to the bottom.

Only thing I can think of is to sew each outside corner from the outside having the hem on the outside of the bag.

Anyone know how they do it?!?!?!

Interesting problem. I'd do the exterior bag first, then the bottom of the long divider. Next would be all the vertical seams to the long divider and sides of the bag, then the ends of the long divider. Looks like attaching the short dividers to the bottom would take a contortionist and may not be possible 😉

Tom,
Maybe this link will help.
