YUP.....we use lots of coots too...
 
Carl - I'm at the other end of the state but Jason Russell told me several years ago that they "tasted like a duck" when breasted and I found that to be true. I took a newbie duck hunting in the downpours on Saturday and told him every duck hunter has to unload on a wad of coots at least once. He killed 13 in 3 shots... and I now have a pile of meat in the freezer. :)
