Smart Tabs

Look closely at the lower edges of the transom and you will see what all that remain of some static trim tabs I tried on my Broadbill.
They were torn off at 0-dark:thirty on the sticky bank of some ducky muck hole while dragging the boat off the trailer into the swamp.... And I wasn't even trying to tear them off...

I tried the smart tabs too, but the smallest set was still too large for the small transom of the Broadbill, so they were returned...

tabs likely aren't the answer for MARSH boats.....and particularly so when people are launching off dikes into the mud.....seems like common sense to me....

Again, tabs would be effective on OPEN WATER boats...big open water boats...and not the little boats used in the marsh and mud....

That siad I bet the tabs worked liek a charm when running before you tore them off..

Were I to make them they would be able to be pulled up out fo the way in the event of a stranding on a mud flat.

I think on Hitch's airboat he had a way to pull them up if I remember.

Either way, I'll make them strong enough to stand on.

Why not use a plate mounted vertically on the transom which hangs just below the bottom of the hull. Basically, take the plates on Brian F's boat and slide them down a bit. If you used two plates or some interesting bolting configuration, I bet you could make so that they were adjustable although probably not quick adjustable.
