My sister lives in Tannersville. I never fished that area much but my understanding is that there are good streams for native brookies and browns if you are willing to hike up into the state forests.
I mainly fished Wayne County. After the opening day rush, most days I'd have streams to myself. Same as the Poconos, get off the beaten path and you can find some nice natives.
